Salary: USD 60,000 - 63,000 / annual
Melio is seeking a Sales Development Representative to drive outbound growth by initiating new business conversations with small to medium-sized businesses. You will execute high-volume, targeted cold outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to identify and engage prospects aligned with Melio's Ideal Customer Profile. Your responsibilities include prospecting and researching SMB businesses, qualifying leads through discovery conversations, booking introductory meetings for Account Executives, and maintaining accurate records in Salesforce.
You will collaborate closely with assigned Account Executives and Sales leadership to develop and refine outbound strategies, adjusting tactics based on performance and market feedback. A key part of your role is ensuring seamless handoffs of qualified opportunities to the sales team, providing comprehensive context to maximize conversion rates. You'll consistently meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and meeting-set targets, directly contributing to Melio's revenue pipeline.
The ideal candidate has 1+ years of dedicated experience in outbound sales development or business development roles, with a proven track record in cold calling, email outreach, and LinkedIn prospecting. You should demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to identify key decision-makers, and experience with CRM software (preferably Salesforce) and sales engagement tools like Outreach or SalesLoft. Fintech, SaaS, or startup experience is a plus, as is familiarity with the payments or SMB market.
This is a highly impactful, outbound-focused position requiring a proactive, resilient, and data-driven individual. You'll support various go-to-market initiatives including event preparation, targeted call blitzes, and other revenue-driving projects. The role requires living in one of the following states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MI, MN, NY, NC, TX, UT, or VT.
