Anthropic is seeking a Safeguards Policy Analyst to support the company's cyber product policy work. This role focuses on developing and maintaining usage policy language, help-center guidance, enforcement procedures, and launch policy notes that define what Anthropic permits and prohibits for cyber-relevant use cases, ensuring consistency with the company's constitution and access tiers. Key responsibilities include contributing to cyber product policy artifacts and keeping them aligned with constitutional principles and access frameworks. You will analyze Anthropic's constitution and cyber-related usage policies to verify that enforcement decisions and safeguards match stated policies, maintaining a gap log and proposing text corrections as needed. The role requires close collaboration with threat intelligence and enforcement teams to ensure cyber safety standards are met, including regular reviews of enforcement decisions against policy text to identify and report drift. You will coordinate cyber policy inputs for model releases and regulatory requirements, preparing cyber policy sections for launch reviews and regulator pre-briefs in support of the Senior Cyber Policy Lead. Additional responsibilities include supporting Anthropic's access-requirements policy, consolidating controlled-access frameworks across programs, and keeping cyber-related policy commitments current with evolving industry and regulatory standards. You'll draft inputs for partner and regulator reporting, translate technical evaluation and safeguard work into policy positions, and engage closely with technical teams to understand probes, classifiers, and access policy capabilities. The ideal candidate has demonstrated ability to write clear policy analysis, familiarity with AI developer usage policy enforcement or cybersecurity policy frameworks (NIST CSF, CVD), and ability to read and interpret technical security material. Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience working across threat intelligence, enforcement, engineering, and policy teams are essential. No coding required, but deep technical engagement is expected.
