Deepgram is the leading platform for Voice AI, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agents at scale. The company has processed over 50,000 years of audio and serves 1,300+ organizations including Twilio, Cloudflare, and Jack in the Box. You'll join as Revenue Accounting Manager, reporting to the Director of Revenue Accounting and managing one revenue accountant. This is a foundational role as Deepgram scales through its first external audit, with the opportunity to shape revenue accounting processes rather than inherit them. Key responsibilities include: • Own the monthly revenue close across enterprise committed usage, self-serve consumption, and direct entries, reconciling everything on the same date each month. Integrate self-serve payments cleanly into the close process. • Manage contract liability and deferred revenue by customer and contract, ensuring GL tie-out and rebuild capability from source data. • Apply ASC 606 policy suite monthly, including material rights on credit rollover, breakage analysis, standalone selling price allocation across platform usage, support, trained models, and concurrency, and contract modifications on upsells and renewals. • Build analysis and schedules that support revenue positions, working with the Directors of Revenue Accounting and Technical Accounting as positions are established. • Communicate monthly and quarterly revenue movements to the executive team and board, explaining what changed and why. Serve as the reference for Deal Desk and CS when deals don't track as expected. • Develop and mentor your revenue accountant, establishing a preparer/reviewer split with proper segregation of duties and management review controls. • Own the usage-to-billing-to-GL reconciliation, writing accounting specifications and holding engineering tooling to standards that minimize manual exceptions. • Serve as the auditors' day-to-day contact on revenue matters, building controls designed to outlast the audit and support future SOX compliance. • Engage early with Deal Desk, Sales, CS, and Legal on order terms, credits, and overage mechanics to catch revenue issues before signature. The role requires comfort with ASC 606 complexity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to partner across functions. You'll work in a fast-moving AI-first environment where continuous learning and AI tool adoption are core expectations.
