Artera is a healthcare technology company that uses agentic AI to strengthen how healthcare providers communicate and care for patients. Founded in 2015 and recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies, Artera serves 1,000+ specialties, FQHCs, health systems, and federal agencies.
You will own end-to-end revenue recognition across SaaS subscriptions, usage-based billing, and professional services, serving as the subject matter expert on ASC 606 as the company scales. This is a frontier finance role where you'll partner with AI Builder teams to put agentic AI to work inside the revenue function itself, automating invoicing, reconciliations, and revenue recognition workflows that traditionally lived in spreadsheets. You're not being asked to "use AI on the side"—you're being asked to redesign how revenue accounting is done.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the revenue recognition schedule across SaaS subscriptions, usage-based fees, and professional services, ensuring full ASC 606 compliance
- Review customer contracts to determine treatment for multiple performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, and renewals across complex arrangements (multi-product deals, pilots, expansions)
- Design and implement agentic AI solutions (e.g., Claude Code) to automate invoicing, reconciliations, and revenue recognition workflows—improving accuracy, scalability, and close speed
- Oversee NetSuite invoicing for recurring and usage-based billing; maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules and contract liabilities for multi-year agreements
- Execute month-end close for revenue accounts, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, and deliver trend, cohort, and variance commentary for executive and board reporting
- Serve as the technical accounting point of contact for Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, and FP&A; partner on SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, NDR, bookings-to-revenue)
- Develop ASC 606 policies and SOX-compliant documentation for revenue, billing, and order-to-cash; serve as primary liaison to external auditors on revenue matters
- Collaborate with IT, RevOps, and Engineering on NetSuite enhancements, billing system integrations, and revenue recognition automation as Artera scales
Artera is focusing U.S. hiring in three cities (Santa Barbara, Seattle, and Kansas City), with an in-person work model. The company offers full health benefits, company equity, flexible time off, and career development resources.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Demonstrable ability to leverage agentic AI tools (such as Claude Code) to automate accounting and revenue workflows—specifically invoicing and revenue recognition
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or comparable cloud ERP) and Salesforce, including revenue management workflows
- Prior experience in high-growth SaaS, healthcare technology, or B2B software
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets proficiency (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
