Anysphere, maker of Cursor (an AI-native code editor), is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to own the complete revenue accounting function from contract and billing reality through books, controls, reporting, and audit. This is a foundational role in a flat, talent-dense organization building best-in-class close and controllership processes. You will run and improve the monthly and quarterly close for revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and related balance sheet accounts. Responsibilities include performing reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analysis; investigating and resolving discrepancies; and explaining revenue drivers to leadership and partner teams. You'll partner early with User Ops, Finance Systems, Finance Data, and Billing to ensure product and operational changes align with revenue recognition requirements before shipping. A key aspect of this role is leveraging Cursor itself to automate repetitive work—building scripts, reconciliation helpers, repeatable close steps, and lightweight tooling that reduce manual effort and human error. You'll design, document, and maintain internal controls over revenue and order-to-cash processes, maintaining audit-ready evidence including control matrices and testing support. You'll also help select, implement, and improve billing and revenue systems such as NetSuite and Stripe. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA strongly preferred) with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful revenue accounting depth. Strong command of ASC 606 is essential. You should have hands-on experience with subscription and usage-based SaaS revenue models, high-volume self-service revenue streams, and systems integration (NetSuite, Stripe, HubiFi, Salesforce). SQL or other data skills for large dataset reconciliations are important. You're comfortable going from first principles, making decisions with incomplete information, and building processes that don't yet exist. Excellent cross-functional collaboration, influence without authority, and ownership mindset are critical in this fast-changing, high-growth environment.
