Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 / annual
Kikoff is a profitable, pre-IPO fintech company on a mission to empower financial security at scale. The company has achieved record revenue growth in 2025 and holds a unicorn valuation, serving millions of users through products focused on credit building, liquidity access, and savings.
As a Revenue Accountant, you will be a key member of Kikoff's growing accounting and finance team, reporting to the Director of Revenue Accounting. You will serve as a revenue recognition subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, ASC 310, and ASC 326 standards, and will own revenue monthly close activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the financial integrity of the company's revenues, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and unbilled revenue
- Applying ASC 606 and company policies to determine proper revenue recognition for SaaS subscriptions, partner revenue share, and usage-based models
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue close processes through journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and disclosure preparation
- Preparing and maintaining schedules and workpapers related to revenue accounts with high accuracy
- Reconciling data between systems, identifying discrepancies, and collaborating with data and engineering teams to resolve root causes
- Preparing documentation and schedules for audit requests related to revenue accounting
- Researching and reviewing sales tax calculations and monthly filings
- Partnering across cross-functional teams as the leader for revenue accounting matters on new products and feature updates
- Engaging in system and process enhancements, including testing, documentation, and feedback on automation efforts
The role is located in the San Francisco office with an in-office requirement of 3 days per week.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in revenue accounting, ideally with a mix of industry and public accounting experience
- Experience working at a late-stage or public Fintech, lending, financial services, or e-commerce/marketplace/internet company with high transaction volumes (preferred)
- CPA designation (strongly desired)
- Experience with ETL tools and data transformation tools such as Alteryx, Metabase, or Snowflake (plus)
- Passion for building systems and process improvements in complex environments
- Ability to automate and simplify large datasets
- Experience with SOX and internal controls (plus)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus excellent written and oral communication
- Curious and willing to embrace AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results
