Gladly is seeking a hands-on Revenue Accountant to own the full revenue cycle at a high-growth AI+SaaS company. You will report to the Director of Accounting and manage the complete billing and revenue recognition process from contract signature through invoicing, recognition, and cash collection.
Key responsibilities include:
**Revenue & Billing Operations**: Own end-to-end billing for subscription, usage-based, and outcome-based contracts. Issue timely, accurate invoices tied to signed order forms, and manage billing schedules through upgrades, mid-term changes, renewals, credits, and true-ups.
**Revenue Recognition & Close**: Maintain revenue and deferred revenue schedules under ASC 606 for recurring and consumption-based models. Own month-end close journal entries for revenue, AR, and related accounts. Prepare monthly reconciliations, roll-forwards, and variance analysis with clean, predictable reporting.
**Contract Review & Treatment**: Support review of new and modified contracts for proper revenue treatment, including standalone selling price allocation, contract modifications, and variable consideration. Document conclusions and partner with Sales on emerging models like AI licensing and outcome-based pricing.
**Commission Management**: Own the commission accrual and payout cycle in partnership with FP&A, Sales, and People Ops. Capitalize and amortize commissions and contract acquisition costs under ASC 340-40.
**Accounts Receivable**: Serve as primary contact for AR matters. Manage daily cash receipt recording, drive AR aging and collections to hit DSO targets, and deliver weekly/monthly AR reporting and key metrics to management.
**Cross-Functional Support**: Resolve billing and invoicing questions from customers and internal teams. Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, and Legal during contract review. Support FP&A with revenue and billings inputs for forecasting.
**Process Improvement**: Help improve quote-to-cash flow across NetSuite and Tabs, replacing manual work with repeatable, documented processes. Maintain internal controls and audit-ready support.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in revenue accounting, billing, or order-to-cash roles with monthly revenue close ownership. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Revenue accounting experience at a technology or SaaS company with recurring and usage-based revenue streams. Working knowledge of ASC 606 and familiarity with ASC 340-40. NetSuite proficiency required, including Advanced Revenue Management module. Hands-on experience with a dedicated billing platform (Tabs, Zuora, Ordway, Maxio, or Stripe Billing). Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
