Salary: USD 105,000 - 145,000 / annual

Tempus is seeking a Research Product Manager III to lead bioinformatics software product development for precision medicine and cancer genomics. The role focuses on connecting real-world evidence and genomic data to deliver actionable clinical insights. You will manage the software development lifecycle for diagnostic products, working at the intersection of translational cancer research, clinical regulatory requirements, and algorithm development. This is a technical product management role requiring deep domain expertise in genomics and regulated device development. Key Responsibilities: - Manage software development lifecycle processes and quality assurance workflows - Engage with quality and regulatory teams to support compliance and validation processes - Triage, coordinate, and manage incident resolution across bioinformatics systems - Provide dedicated stakeholder support for users of bioinformatics software - Collect, prioritize, and manage feature requests to guide product roadmap - Interface with downstream engineering product managers during implementation - Manage data contracts and integration points with engineering teams - Maintain comprehensive documentation for all bioinformatics software systems The role reports to the Head of Bioinformatics and requires close collaboration with regulatory, quality, and engineering teams to ensure diagnostic products meet clinical and regulatory standards. Required Experience: - Bachelor's or M.S. in a scientific discipline - Significant experience in medical device development and regulatory submission - 2–4 years of relevant experience in diagnostics product development - Familiarity with US FDA and EU IVDR regulatory frameworks Ideal Candidates Will Also Have: - Track record of successful submissions to US and international regulatory agencies - Experience in cancer genetics, immunology, or molecular biology - Experience working with next-generation sequencing data - Self-driven approach and ability to work well in interdisciplinary teams - Strong communication skills for presenting concepts to diverse audiences
