Novig is building a CFTC-designated prediction market for sports trading, recently achieving the fastest DCM (Designated Contract Market) designation in US history. The company has raised over $100M from top-tier investors including Pantera, Forerunner, Lux, NFX, Paul Graham, and Joe Montana.
As Regulatory Chief of Staff, you will serve as the connective tissue of the regulatory function, reporting directly to the Chief Regulatory & Legal Affairs Officer. This role sits at the intersection of federal compliance, market design, and strategic decision-making during a critical period when the regulatory landscape for prediction markets is actively being written.
Key responsibilities include: tracking all open rulemakings and CFTC filing deadlines; translating rulebook commitments into written procedures, metrics, and review cycles; building systems and tools (trackers, templates, calendars, briefing documents) that scale the regulatory team's productivity; engaging directly with Congress, state governments, and federal agencies including the CFTC and Treasury; and running board and committee governance. You will own workstreams end-to-end from your first month and participate in decisions that shape what the market is permitted to become.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and obsessive about market mechanics. You thrive in fast-moving, low-process environments where ideas compete on merit, not hierarchy. You hate information silos and dogma. You're a team player who can disagree without taking things personally. Nice-to-haves include backgrounds in law, policy, government, markets, or journalism.
The role is based in Union Square, NYC. The work is tied to live sports, which may involve nights, weekends, and high-pressure periods. This is not a role for those who need clear swim lanes, heavy process, or explicit direction.
