Upway is building the world's leading marketplace for refurbished e-bikes, having brought over 50,000 e-bikes back to life in three years. The company's mission is to make electric mobility accessible to everyone through sourcing, professionally refurbishing, and selling premium-quality e-bikes at affordable prices with a sustainability focus. As Regional Business Development Manager, you will drive growth across Austria by building and scaling Upway's B2B retailer network. Based in the field 3-4 days per week, you will take full regional ownership of a major bicycle territory, managing all business relationships end-to-end. Key responsibilities include: identifying and prospecting independent bike shops and regional retail chains to become active Upway partners; onboarding new retailers and turning them into daily users of the trade-in solution; identifying and purchasing excess stock from partners to expand product offerings; building long-term trust through reliable partnership and technical credibility; negotiating favorable purchasing conditions; and supporting deployment of new B2B ecosystem services including pickup, drop-off, maintenance, and B2B sales. You will spend approximately 80% of your time traveling within your region to strengthen partner relationships. Success requires a hunter mindset—comfort with cold outreach, closing deals, and persistence. You must be equally comfortable discussing technical bike specifications with mechanics and negotiating contracts with business owners. Required: 2-5 years of B2B sales, business development, or purchasing experience. Sales DNA from FMCG, SaaS, or field sales backgrounds is valued. Cycling industry experience is a plus but not required. Essential skills include analytical thinking to prioritize targets and optimize routes, strong negotiation abilities, and genuine passion for bicycles and the cycling community. Native-level German and professional English proficiency required.
