Nox Metals is a technology-enabled metals supplier serving aerospace and defense manufacturers in the US. The company uses software and automation to deliver aluminum plate, bar, and rounds faster than traditional industry standards. Nox is expanding rapidly across multiple locations, including a new facility in Los Angeles.
As a Recruiting Associate, you will own the top of the hiring funnel, responsible for taking approved requisitions from initial posting through scheduling qualified candidates for interviews. This is a high-volume, outbound-focused role where you'll source talent across both manufacturing floor positions (machinists, technicians, operators) and office roles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing and posting job descriptions across multiple job boards, keeping postings current and optimized
- Sourcing candidates via LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and partnerships with colleges, trade programs, and workforce development organizations
- Running outbound prospecting to identify passive candidates and convince them to engage
- Screening applicants and conducting phone screens to assess fit
- Scheduling interviews, coordinating with hiring managers, and maintaining candidate communication throughout the process
- Managing candidate records in the ATS and analyzing which sourcing channels deliver the best talent
- Building long-term relationships with educational institutions and workforce programs
- Following all People Ops procedures and flagging process improvements
- Handling confidential information with discretion
You'll work Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with flexibility for early/late hours to reach second and third shift candidates. The role offers the opportunity to staff new facilities as Nox expands, particularly the Los Angeles location. If based in Los Angeles, you'll begin with on-site training in Detroit and travel back as needed.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of in-house recruiting or sourcing experience with demonstrated outbound prospecting
- Strong writing skills for job postings and cold outreach messages that generate responses
- Comfort and proficiency with phone-based recruiting all day
- Clear, direct communication across all levels (shop floor to executive)
- Organizational skills and ability to manage dozens of candidates across multiple requisitions simultaneously
- Strong judgment of candidate fit with ability to articulate reasoning
- Willingness to escalate concerns to hiring managers when candidates or requisitions don't align
- Proactive mindset ("never says that's not my job")
Nice to have:
- High-volume hiring experience
- Background recruiting for manufacturing, skilled trades, or hard tech
- Experience in defense or ITAR-regulated hiring
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and ATS platforms (Ashby preferred)
- Comfort using AI tools to increase productivity
