SoFi is seeking an experienced Recovery Litigation Relationship Manager to oversee management of a growing litigation caseload of defaulted loans across 3 national litigation networks and over 100 local attorney offices. This role provides oversight on 10,000+ active SoFi litigation placements spanning Personal Loans, Student Loans, and Credit Card accounts.
Key responsibilities include reviewing each network's caseload and optimizing execution across hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. You will review individual cases, assess proposed pleadings and settlement arrangements, and ensure proper documentation is available as cases progress. The role requires acting as a cross-functional liaison between external litigation networks and SoFi's in-house counsel, particularly on matters that span both (e.g., motions to compel arbitration). You will engage regularly with internal partners including Compliance, Finance, Internal Audit, and Third Party Risk Management.
You will collaborate with Recovery analysts to track performance at network, state, and product levels, introducing key industry metrics and KPIs while delivering regular portfolio reporting to management. The role involves evaluating the current litigation engagement model to identify workflow gaps and implement operational enhancements that improve efficiency and internal processes.
Required qualifications include a minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably managing defaulted consumer loan caseloads at a FinTech, large bank, law firm, or in-house legal department. A Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or an Associates/Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies is required. Significant experience with litigation case management platforms (Legal Tracker, CounselLink, or similar relational databases) is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and keen attention to detail are critical.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with Convoke's suite of products (Origin, Pulse, CRM), knowledge of litigation scoring models and post-judgment remedies (liens, garnishments, dormant judgment sales), and expertise in data management, dashboard development, and statistical analysis.
