Re:Build Manufacturing is revitalizing America's manufacturing base through an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform serving aerospace & defense, electrification, medical, energy, and robotics sectors. They are launching a new venture in CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and seeking a hands-on engineering leader to build, launch, and scale this product.
In this role, you will own the technical architecture and engineering strategy for the CAM software venture, taking technology from early R&D and prototypes through MVP, product-market fit, and commercial scale. You'll stay deeply hands-on with the technology—architecture, code reviews, prototyping, and solving difficult technical problems alongside your team. You'll build and lead a small, highly capable engineering organization designed for speed and leverage, establishing an AI-native engineering model using agents and modern AI development tools to dramatically increase productivity.
Key responsibilities include developing the technology-transfer strategy to move novel research into scalable commercial products, partnering closely with product, customers, and commercial stakeholders to translate customer problems into working software, and working directly with the GM and executive team to define product direction and commercial targets. You'll create the engineering systems, processes, and technical foundation needed to scale from early-stage product to thousands of users, operating with startup urgency and ownership while leveraging Re:Build's capabilities.
You bring 8–18 years of progressive software engineering experience with meaningful team leadership. You've demonstrated success taking a SaaS or technically complex software product from 0→1 into commercial scale, ideally toward $10M+ revenue or comparable adoption. You have startup or venture-backed experience where speed, ambiguity, and limited resources were the norm. You have a strong computer science foundation, remain close to the code, and can meaningfully contribute to architecture decisions. Experience in CAD/CAM, 3D modeling, simulation, spatial computing, or developer tools is highly valued. You're AI-native in how you build software—using AI agents and modern development tools as fundamental to your engineering process, not just as add-ons.
