Infleqtion is a global quantum technology company developing atom-based quantum computers, sensors, and networks. This role bridges data science, physics, and engineering to advance quantum sensor applications.
You will design and implement robust time series models for forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance in quantum sensor systems. Key responsibilities include collaborating with product and engineering teams to integrate predictive models into live quantum sensors, analyzing large-scale sensor and telemetry data, evaluating deployed model performance, and developing tools and pipelines to continuously refine models. You will manage technical priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver on project objectives.
Required qualifications include a Master's degree in a STEM field (mathematics, science, engineering, or equivalent) and strong Python programming skills (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch). You must have demonstrable experience creating and developing Python libraries, designing and implementing machine learning models from scratch, and strong foundations in applied mathematics and physics, particularly statistical modeling, systems dynamics, and differential equations. Software engineering best practices are essential: version control (Git), code review workflows, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines. You should write clean, efficient, modular code suitable for production environments.
Desirable skills include familiarity with AMO physics or quantum machine learning, MLOps best practices, real-time data systems (Apache Kafka, MQTT), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), advanced time series techniques (ARIMA, VAR, Prophet, LSTM), control theory concepts (PID controllers, Kalman Filters, Model Predictive Control, Reinforcement Learning), and lower-level data pipeline development (C++/Rust).
The role is based at Infleqtion's Kidlington, Oxford office and the National Quantum Computing Centre in Harwell, with up to 2 days per week work-from-home permitted. Up to 10% travel, including international, may be required. Work involves office and laboratory environments with standard office equipment use and occasional lifting up to 10 kg.
