Salary: USD 78,300 - 148,800 / annual
Join Boston Scientific's Metals Core Technology (MCT) Quality team in Maple Grove, Minnesota, as a Quality Engineer III. In this role, you will drive innovation and strengthen manufacturing processes for medical devices in a dynamic production environment. You'll work on-site five days per week, collaborating with manufacturing engineers on line support activities and partnering with product development teams to ensure robust new product development.
Key responsibilities include identifying and implementing effective process control systems to support product development, qualification, and ongoing manufacturing. You will support a culture of continuous improvement by driving enhancements to existing process controls and proactively investigating and implementing best-in-class quality engineering practices. You'll promote quality assurance, process controls, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
You will apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve quality issues. Actively engage with production teams across all four shifts to develop solutions that improve outgoing quality. Provide input on and implement departmental and cross-functional engineering initiatives, and provide project direction, coaching, and mentoring to technician team personnel. You'll perform process validation and verification activities and review related documentation.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant field, including process validation and verification activities and risk management documentation (DFMEAs, PFMEAs). Strong data analysis skills using Excel and Minitab are essential, along with the proven ability to work successfully with minimal supervision and take initiative. You must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Preferred qualifications include experience owning nonconformance investigations, process improvement initiatives, and corrective action projects; leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to completion; working in the medical device industry or another highly regulated industry; providing quality line support; and working in a manufacturing environment.
