Wise is a global fintech company enabling fast, low-cost international money transfers and payments. This Quality Assurance Specialist role focuses on Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) compliance and operational risk assurance.
You will conduct holistic, risk-based reviews of operational processes and controls to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulations and internal policies. Key responsibilities include:
• Perform detailed quality assurance reviews using test scripts and scorecards to assess risk outcomes and policy compliance across global and regional requirements
• Identify, assess, and document findings with clear risk materiality assessments and root cause analysis
• Participate in calibration exercises to ensure consistent decision-making across the team
• Communicate outcomes to stakeholders, highlighting key risks, issues, and recommendations
• Analyze emerging trends and themes to identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Execute targeted investigations and root cause analysis when assigned
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing and capability development
• Meet individual and team KPIs and SLAs, balancing quality with processing speed
• Support team collaboration through meetings, training, and internal events
This role is integral to Wise's mission of creating a borderless financial network by ensuring effective risk management and regulatory compliance in SAR reporting processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 2+ years of professional experience in QA related to BSA/AML compliance, AML investigations, or SAR reporting
• Strong understanding of BSA/AML regulations and SAR requirements
• Fluent in English (written and verbal) with ability to clearly articulate thoughts and recommendations
• Ownership of personal development through industry analysis, regulatory insights, and emerging risk typologies
• Good understanding of QA methodologies, frameworks, testing procedures, scoring criteria, and root cause analysis
• Risk and compliance expertise relevant to SAR reporting; ability to identify, assess, and interpret policy requirements
• Strong analytical skills for reviewing customer files, identifying issues and trends using data and AI tools
• Competence with case management systems, dashboards, and AI tools; comfort with evolving technologies
• Critical thinking with attention to detail; ability to challenge assumptions and connect data across sources
• Risk management skills using facts, data, and policy frameworks to justify conclusions
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain risks in simple, actionable terms
• Adaptability to evolving requirements, policy changes, and system updates; openness to feedback
