Sakana AI is seeking a Public Sector Specialist to serve as a bridge between the company's cutting-edge AI technology and government agencies and related organizations domestically and internationally. You will work within the Applied Team to develop and execute documentation strategies that connect Sakana AI's advanced technical capabilities to government budget requests and policy-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with executive leadership, project managers, engineers, and researchers to create compelling documentation strategies that position Sakana AI's technology for government adoption
- Develop deep expertise in government-specific budget cycles and policy decision-making processes, then synthesize internal technical knowledge into high-quality proposal documents, business summaries (pitch decks), and technical explanations
- Identify public sector opportunities, prepare proposals, secure contract awards, and partner with project managers on post-award government engagement
This is a full-time position based in Japan requiring business-level Japanese proficiency (N1 standard) or higher. Business-level English is a plus.

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in one of the following:
* Creating documentation for budget requests or policy development at domestic or international government agencies
* Preparing proposals for government-funded research, development, or survey projects at private companies, with successful contract awards
- Continuous interest in and understanding of latest developments in AI/LLM and generative AI
- Business-level Japanese (N1 standard minimum)
- Bachelor's degree
