Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations in physical operations—agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing—to harness IoT data for actionable insights and operational improvement. The company helps digitally transform industries representing over 40% of global GDP.
This role is a Public Policy and Government Affairs Manager focused on U.S. state and local markets (East Coast, Northeast, Midwest, Southeast). You will develop and execute policy strategies that advance Samsara's business goals, identify and track proposed bills and regulations at state and municipal levels, assess their impact, and keep the business informed. You'll work closely with sales teams to create policy-driven adoption opportunities and build strong relationships with governors, mayors, state legislators, regulatory officials, and trade associations.
Key responsibilities include managing outside consultants in key state markets, assisting with legislative filings, comments, and testimony, collaborating on content creation (collateral, blog posts) that articulates Samsara's vision to policymakers, and serving as an internal bridge between policy initiatives and engineering, product, strategy, legal, and partnerships teams. You'll be a key contributor on diverse advocacy initiatives, identify sales enablement opportunities, and develop creative engagement strategies.
The ideal candidate is agile, collaborative, and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. You'll work across multiple teams and projects, synthesize diverse inputs, communicate clearly, and provide practical guidance. This is a fully remote role open to US-based candidates except those in SF Bay Area, NYC Metro, or Washington D.C. Metro areas. The role offers autonomy and support within a recently public, high-growth company culture that encourages rapid career development.
