Salary: USD 120,000 - 140,000 / annual
Flix is seeking a Public Affairs & Strategic Development Manager to lead market expansion by securing access to critical transportation infrastructure, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and driving operational success in a highly regulated environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for securing high-impact locations for bus stops and stations by leveraging government relationships and private-sector negotiation skills. You will build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, and regulatory bodies to support business growth. You will lead regional strategy and align commercial objectives with government policies by identifying opportunities and mitigating regulatory risks.
Key responsibilities include representing the company in discussions with transportation authorities and media, preparing materials for hearings and public consultations, and leading site acquisition while ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards across jurisdictions. You will develop partnerships with businesses, transit agencies, and property owners to enhance station access and amenities, and serve as the primary contact for station-related and government relations matters, advocating for the company in infrastructure planning forums.
You will manage up to two direct reports, depending on organizational needs, with responsibilities evolving over time. The role involves up to 30% business travel as needed and leadership of state and federal affairs strategy and execution.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities
- Demonstrated success in owning business strategy and securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders to support business growth
- 2+ years of project management experience with strong knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems
- 1+ years of people management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams with indirect reporting lines
- Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder management, and analyzing policies to identify risks and opportunities
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting to senior officials and business leaders
- Familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development
- Experience with RFPs and grant writing is a plus but not required
