Apex manufactures satellite buses (spacecraft platforms) at scale, combining software, vertical integration, and hardware design for manufacturing. The company serves earth observation, communications, and other space-based applications across US Government, Commercial, and International Government markets.
As a Proposal Writer, you will be a critical driver of business growth by authoring and managing high-quality proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and other new business responses. You will collaborate closely with Business Development, Product, and Mission Management teams to win contracts. Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as primary author of responses to RFIs, RFPs, and new business opportunities
- Quarterback the entire proposal lifecycle and own final delivery of complete proposals (technical, cost/price, schedule, and other content)
- Translate complex technical concepts into persuasive, easily digestible materials for diverse audiences
- Create content that showcases product strengths, capabilities, and solutions aligned with customer needs
- Convert high-level details and rough drafts into high-impact proposal content
- Maintain Apex's suite of productized proposal templates and content library
- Ensure alignment with established guidelines and quality standards
- Deliver high-caliber work on tight deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience writing, drafting, and editing proposals for US government or sophisticated aerospace & defense customers
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, BD, contracts, etc.) under tight deadlines
- Meticulous, proactive, and highly organized
- Clear communicator (synchronous/asynchronous, in-person/virtual, written/spoken)
- Solid writing and editing skills
- Coachable and team-oriented; ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
- Direct experience in spacecraft or spacecraft-adjacent markets (nice to have)
- Active Top Secret SCI clearance or willing to attain clearance
