Salary: USD 60,000 - 80,000 / annual

The Property Accountant – Institutional role provides full-cycle accounting support for the property management team, serving as a key member responsible for communicating financial results to external clients and internal management. This is an individual contributor position requiring strong accounting, collaboration, and communication skills.
Key responsibilities include: daily accounting functions across multiple regions; preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP (accrual journal entries, financial statement preparation/reconciliation, bank reconciliations); monthly client distributions; general ledger review and maintenance; balance sheet reconciliation; cash receipt and tenant billing monitoring; invoice coding review for capitalization policy adherence; coordination with departments for accounting accuracy; independent research of historical cash transactions; audit support; regulatory research for multi-state compliance; and annual 1099/1096 and quarterly tax form preparation.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent; 3+ years of real estate accounting experience; proficiency in Excel and Google Suite; high attention to detail; ability to multitask and work under pressure; strong client focus; and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. Public accounting experience is highly preferred.
