Torus is building the world's first mesh energy infrastructure—resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power systems that unite communities. The company designs, engineers, manufactures, installs, and supports energy storage systems end-to-end, operating a 545,000-square-foot manufacturing facility (GigaOne) in Salt Lake City. Torus has raised over $267 million from investors including Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ, and Origin Ventures. As a Project Manager on the Hardware team, you will bridge product development, manufacturing, quality, and field operations to deliver energy storage systems on aggressive timelines. You'll report directly to the Head of Hardware and work cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, quality, and field operations teams to coordinate delivery of all Torus products. This is not a traditional project management role. Success requires understanding context across the organization, communicating priorities clearly, and ensuring teams stay aligned and moving fast. You will be responsible for program delivery, including breaking down complex work into achievable phases with clear success criteria, proactively identifying technical, resource, and supply chain blockers, defining and tracking milestones across product development and manufacturing programs, managing schedules with tasks, dependencies, and timelines across multiple engineering disciplines, allocating engineering resources effectively, and monitoring progress against plans. You'll also manage cross-functional communication, ensuring clarity on priorities and decisions; support field operations by coordinating product launches and managing escalations; and contribute to process improvements that reduce cycle time without sacrificing quality. The role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of technical depth and cross-functional pace—equally comfortable in a design review and a shop-floor huddle. You are a systems thinker who sees how delays in one area ripple across the organization. You bring clarity to complex technical discussions, earning credibility across teams by seeking context first and understanding constraints before pushing for speed. You hold the line on both speed and craftsmanship, knowing that at Torus, speed and quality are valued equally. You are customer-first in prioritization, comfortable in ambiguity, steady under pressure, and skilled at simplifying complex engineering trade-offs into clear documentation and stand-ups. Work location: Hybrid, based in Salt Lake City with occasional onsite work at the South Salt Lake HQ Warehouse and/or Springville R&D Warehouse. Full-time, salaried position. Requirements: The posting does not explicitly state years of experience, education level, or specific certifications required. However, the role expects demonstrated experience in cross-functional project management in hardware or manufacturing environments, comfort with technical depth (understanding firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineering constraints), experience managing complex schedules and dependencies, and proven ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Applicants must already have legal authorization to work in the US without requiring employer sponsorship.
