Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Program Manager to lead FAA compliance and airspace authorization efforts for its Test & Evaluation team. This role owns the end-to-end execution of regulatory approvals—frequently the pacing item for test campaigns—and works across all product lines and operational domains (subsurface, surface, airborne, and test range management).
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining FAA compliance programs aligned with Part 21, Part 91, Part 107, Part 135, and other applicable regulations. You will prepare and submit regulatory applications including Certificates of Authorization (COAs), 44807 exemptions, Part 107 waivers, and type certification requests. You'll own intake, prioritization, and end-to-end tracking of airspace access requests company-wide, serving as the single authoritative system of record from initial request through FAA decision and post-approval conditions.
You will serve as primary liaison with the FAA, Department of Defense, and other regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals for flight operations and experimental testing. You'll coordinate non-FAA approvals (radio frequency, spectrum authorizations) to ensure all supporting authorizations arrive in parallel rather than sequentially. You'll develop compliance strategies for emerging technologies including autonomous systems, beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations, and large UAS platforms.
The role includes building and maintaining compliance reporting—tracking submission volume, approval/denial turnaround, cycle time, and aging of open requests—and delivering recurring readouts to program and company leadership on regulatory throughput, bottlenecks, and risk. You'll support test site and range activation, working with site leads and flight operations on airspace design, deconfliction, NOTAMs, and standing authorizations for recurring test activity. You'll maintain current knowledge of FAA regulatory changes, support audits and inspections, and work closely with engineering, flight operations, and safety teams to integrate compliance requirements into operational procedures.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or related field. 5+ years of FAA regulatory compliance, certification, or airworthiness experience. Strong knowledge of FAA regulatory frameworks (COAs, 44807 exemptions, Part 91/135/107). Direct experience engaging with FAA representatives and regulatory agencies. Ability to instrument and report on process metrics. Familiarity with autonomous systems, UAS, and emerging aviation technologies. Experience in defense-related aviation programs and DoD interactions. Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
