Matillion is seeking a Professional Services Engineer to architect and implement production-grade data integrations and distributed systems for enterprise customers. You will own the full deployment lifecycle—from kickoff through production—within an 8-12 week Accelerator window, working with organizations like Cisco, DocuSign, and Slack.
Key responsibilities include architecting modern data pipelines using Python, SQL, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP); transforming legacy ETL/ELT workflows into autonomous systems; integrating AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) to accelerate delivery; and delivering technical solutions under defined timelines. You'll move fluidly between deep technical problem-solving and strategic conversations with customer executives.
Required qualifications: demonstrable experience building production-grade software with strong Python, SQL, and API development skills; hands-on data engineering background (ETL/ELT tools, data warehousing, or DBA experience); strong data architecture and data structures knowledge; ability to assess and redesign customer data environments during migrations; comfort with multiple roles (technical delivery, customer communication, and initial commercial support in newer markets); proven track record completing migration and deployment projects to defined timelines.
