Mach Industries, founded in 2023, is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). With approximately 350 employees, the company operates with startup agility while delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems for the United States and its allies.
The Production Supervisor will lead day-to-day manufacturing operations supporting the build of composite airframe structures and unmanned aircraft systems. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising technicians, driving execution to production schedules, and ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering, quality, and configuration control requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading daily production activities across composite fabrication, airframe assembly, subassembly integration, avionics, and final vehicle build operations
- Supervising, coaching, and developing technicians and lead technicians to ensure strong technical execution, accountability, and continuous growth
- Driving daily attainment to production schedules while balancing labor, tooling, material readiness, cure cycles, inspection hold points, and downstream integration needs
- Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with released work instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, and controlled documentation
- Maintaining compliance with configuration control, product traceability, and manufacturing record requirements for flight hardware
- Supporting integration of airframe, mechanical, and mission-system hardware into unmanned aircraft platforms
- Coordinating with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and Test teams to resolve production constraints
- Ensuring compliance with workmanship standards, dimensional requirements, and inspection criteria throughout fabrication, assembly, and vehicle integration
- Enforcing safe work practices including PPE use, hazardous material handling, FOD prevention, and EHS compliance
- Maintaining high standards for 5S, tool accountability, equipment readiness, calibration compliance, and organized work areas
- Identifying recurring manufacturing issues and driving corrective and preventive actions to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader capable of balancing schedule, quality, and safety while maintaining strict process discipline across airframe production and UAS assembly operations. This person will play a critical role in scaling production capacity, developing frontline talent, and delivering reliable hardware ready for test and deployment.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role such as Production Supervisor or equivalent shop-floor team leadership position
- Experience supporting composite fabrication, structural assembly, mechanical integration, or final assembly in an aerospace production environment
- Experience with GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and AS9100 / ISO9001 quality standards
- Experience with manufacturing software systems (e.g., JIRA, ERP/MRP, MES, PLM)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, assembly documentation, and workmanship standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively across production, engineering, quality, planning, and program teams
- Ability to work extended hours or alternate shifts as needed to support production schedules
Preferred qualifications include experience supporting new product introduction, low-rate initial production, or production ramp in unmanned or flight vehicle programs; knowledge of configuration management, nonconformance reporting, RCCA, and traceability requirements for aerospace hardware; familiarity with AS9100 or similar aerospace quality management systems; experience leading teams in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing; strong understanding of production flow across fabrication, assembly, inspection, and test interfaces; and experience implementing lean manufacturing, 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement practices.
