Salary: USD 68,000 - 74,000 / annual

Home Chef, a leading meal solutions company founded in 2013, is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday & Tuesday off) at its Bedford Park, IL facility. The role manages a team of hourly production leads, production associates, machine leads, and machine operators across multiple production areas. Key Responsibilities: Pre-Production & Setup: Receive daily production plans from the Shift Manager, coordinate with production leads to set up tables and lines, manage delegation of production tasks, ensure proper staffing, and verify all required product is available on the production floor. Coach leads on setup procedures and recommend improvements to safety, equipment, and SOPs. Portioning & Meal Bagging: Oversee portioning and meal bagging operations, inspect work areas for cleanliness and safety compliance, ensure teams meet production targets, verify quality standards are understood, and identify efficiency improvements. Demonstrate working knowledge of production equipment (date coder, sprinter, PS-125, piston fillers) and perform basic troubleshooting. Manage inventory counts and reconciliation. Shipping: Oversee shipping lines, coordinate with warehouse teams on product replenishment, verify line setup against SOPs, manage shipping pace to meet targets, and troubleshoot shipping equipment (scanners, case sealers). Safety & Food Safety: Continuously promote employee and food safety, ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) checks are conducted, correct violations, maintain clean and sanitized work surfaces, and support the company's SQF food safety system. Team Leadership: Spend approximately one-third of time building and maintaining a high-performing team. Facilitate shift huddles, train and coach leads on SOPs, manage conflict, evaluate performance, participate in hiring/promotion decisions, and cultivate a culture of mutual respect with a "Safety First, Quality Always" mentality. Production Tracking: Ensure all production progress is accurately entered into tracking systems, write end-of-shift reports, and communicate required information to the next shift supervisor. Requirements: - Minimum 2+ years of successful supervisory or leadership experience in a fast-paced environment - Cross-functional experience in 2+ departments (warehouse, production, quality, procurement, etc.) preferred - Proven track record of driving KPIs and meeting or exceeding goals - Experience developing team members through leading and managing - Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, ERP systems, and mobile technology (tablets, cell phones) - Open availability to work weekend shifts - Ability to lift up to 49 pounds occasionally - Ability to stand/walk for 10–12 hours in a cold environment (below 40°F) - High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
