As Product Subject Matter Expert, you will serve as the technical accounting authority shaping a category-defining product. You'll translate complex accounting workflows, compliance requirements, and revenue recognition processes into intuitive product features that solve real-world problems for finance professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as subject matter expert on technical accounting topics and ASC 606 compliance
- Translating complex accounting workflows and compliance needs into product requirements and specifications
- Defining, prioritizing, and executing features aligned with customer needs and business goals
- Partnering closely with engineers and designers to deliver accurate, intuitive solutions
- Gathering customer and stakeholder feedback to inform product development
- Creating product documentation, release notes, and training materials
- Supporting QA and user acceptance testing for finance-related features
You'll work in a fast-paced, AI-native startup environment where intelligence and agency are table stakes. The role requires someone who internalizes the mission, designs strategy independently, and delivers results that exceed expectations. You'll bridge the gap between accounting users, engineers, and designers, working closely with customers to understand their most pressing needs.
The position is based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule: in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus one additional flexible day per week. The company also has a New York City office and may consider relocation.
