Granted is a seed-stage, well-funded AI-native patient financial OS helping Americans navigate medical bills, fight claim denials, correct billing errors, and negotiate costs. Founded by a former Oscar Health leader and backed by investors including Hugging Face, Rocket Money, and Forerunner Ventures, the company is building the first platform that works entirely on the consumer side of healthcare. As Product Specialist for Healthcare Billing, you'll bridge Product and Customer Experience, serving as the domain expert on bill-lowering strategy and AI automation. You'll analyze uploaded medical bills weekly to assess lowerable opportunities, identify systematic patterns across hundreds of cases, and translate findings into product strategy, process improvements, and AI training data. You'll act as the escalation point for VIP and high-complexity cases, partner with Product on the AI bill analyzer roadmap, and ensure new features land effectively with the Healthcare Advocate team. A typical week breaks down as: strategic bill analysis and pattern-finding (~40%), product partnership (~30%), advocacy quality and escalation (~20%), and process/enablement work (~10%). You'll publish weekly opportunity reports, shape playbooks and training as the HA team scales, and turn casework pain points into roadmap input. This is a strategy role with hands-on case work. You'll need deep fluency in medical billing mechanics—CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding, EOBs, appeals, financial assistance policies, No Surprises Act protections, and negotiation tactics. You'll work in-office in Chelsea, NYC Monday–Thursday, with Fridays remote. REQUIREMENTS: Must-haves: - 4+ years of work experience in a complex consumer industry - Experience in a strategy, product, or operations role at a tech company where you built something from scratch - Fluency in how medical bills are built and lowered: CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding; EOB interpretation; appeals, financial assistance policies, No Surprises Act protections; and tactful provider negotiations - Comfort in fast-moving startups: scrappy, sharp, quick to ramp on new products and tools Nice-to-haves: - Experience on both provider and payer sides of billing - Hands-on work with AI or agentic tools in billing, clinical, or ops settings - Direct patient-facing work (advocacy, care navigation, patient financial services) - Experience training or leading billers, advocates, or specialists
