Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion, is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join its Morrisville, NC facility. This role is central to delivering high-quality aerospace structures (composites and metallic) by defining, developing, and executing quality processes across product development and manufacturing.
You will collaborate closely with design and manufacturing teams to establish and maintain quality standards, evaluate manufacturing performance, and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include leading product development and production for aerospace programs through drawing reviews, quality planning, inspection protocols, and process verification. You'll champion the transition from new product introduction (NPI) to sustainable, rate manufacturing, ensuring clarity and resolution of production ambiguities.
The role requires coordinating quality requirements with the supply chain team, developing incoming part and material acceptance processes, and leading Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities. You'll establish metrics for measuring quality performance, support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, and write program-wide quality planning documentation. Additionally, you'll understand qualification of internal and external manufacturing processes, including PPAP/FAI and inspection methods for aerospace programs, and coordinate with supplier quality engineers.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical field, hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality on aerospace vehicles or systems, and working knowledge of aerospace design review and quality management. You must have experience with mechanical manufacturing processes, CAD systems (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA), and analytical skills for data mining and statistical analysis. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. security clearance is required. Preferred experience includes composite and metallic airframe manufacturing, 1+ years developing quality systems in complex manufacturing environments, and familiarity with AS9100/AS6500/ISO 9001 standards and methodologies like FMEA and APQP.
