Brex is seeking a Product & Privacy Counsel to serve as a strategic legal leader navigating the intersection of financial services and technology regulation. This role is critical to scaling Brex's privacy program and ensuring compliance with evolving domestic and international regulatory frameworks.
Key responsibilities include scaling data privacy and security programs in collaboration with engineering and business teams; implementing global privacy compliance processes for GDPR, CCPA, and other regulations with monitoring and testing frameworks; leading drafting and negotiation of data-related external agreements; providing comprehensive legal oversight and regulatory advice for all products from design through go-to-market; representing Brex with financial partners and regulatory bodies; identifying innovation opportunities within compliance constraints; and strategically managing external legal counsel on regulatory and privacy matters.
The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of combined experience in law firms, technology, and fintech companies with a track record on privacy and financial regulatory issues. Required qualifications include deep understanding of CCPA, GDPR, and financial regulations; J.D. from an accredited law school with bar admission and active standing in at least one U.S. state; exceptional judgment and integrity; product-minded approach to lawyering; entrepreneurial mindset; strong project management skills; and ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
Bonus qualifications include fintech or adjacent financial services sector experience with understanding of emerging regulatory challenges, and international privacy expertise with cross-border regulatory navigation experience.
