Jerry.ai is a pre-IPO insurtech startup that has raised $240M, serves 5M+ customers, and is profitable. The company is building an AI-powered platform to manage car and home ownership—covering insurance, maintenance, repairs, buying, and selling. Jerry launched car insurance in 2019 and became a top-three broker in the US, leveraging homegrown generative AI infrastructure built before off-the-shelf platforms existed.
You will own the Agentic AI product strategy and execution, sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, and applied AI. The current system already automates over 70% of inbound sales and service requests (50k+ chats monthly), with prompts and workflows scattered across six separate locations. Your mission is to unify this infrastructure, establish a single source of truth, and define the roadmap for next-generation capabilities including voicebot, computer-use agents, and consumer AI applications.
Key responsibilities include: leading end-to-end development of the AI platform and customer experiences from roadmap to rollout; partnering with engineers on prompt strategies, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails; serving as technical translator between engineering and the broader organization; driving systematic improvement in answer quality, customer satisfaction, and automation rates through experimentation; and collaborating with OpenAI partners to evaluate and deploy next-generation voice models and workflow automation.
You will report directly to the COO and own one of the company's most important growth levers. The role requires deep technical fluency in AI systems, comfort with system architecture and API design, SQL proficiency, and a track record of turning complex strategic ideas into scalable, production-grade products. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in technical roles like forward-deployed engineering or technical product management at fast-paced startups, with demonstrated passion for modern LLMs and AI workflows.
