Distributed Spectrum builds systems for radio spectrum intelligence, combining neural networks trained on global radio data with embedded deployment on minimal hardware. The company has developed proprietary technology including custom embedding architectures, GPU kernels, and a complete ML stack from scratch.
You will join as a Product Operations individual contributor reporting directly to the COO, working across engineering, research, product, and growth teams. This is a hands-on role focused on making critical work across the company move forward with clarity and momentum.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and document success criteria with founders and project owners, ensuring shared understanding of progress and readiness
- Assess project progress independently by reviewing plans, talking to team members, and evaluating results
- Track dependencies, ownership, and handoffs; identify and communicate plan drift as new information emerges
- Resolve coordination gaps and bring leaders the evidence and tradeoffs needed for decisions while keeping technical ownership with project leads
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and decision logs while keeping coordination overhead low
- Close feedback loops by routing test results and field observations to relevant stakeholders and checking implications against milestones
You should think clearly, breaking messy problems into essential components and separating facts from assumptions. You distill conflicting information into concise accounts of what's happening and what's uncertain. You are technically curious and learn quickly—able to follow technical conversations, ask foundational questions, and persist until you understand. You earn trust through useful work, understanding constraints, spotting gaps, and following through at every level. You are fluent with AI tools like Claude for learning, synthesis, and automation, and you verify outputs and own accuracy.
Your background could span engineering, consulting, investing, program management, military leadership, or operations at other startups. You may be only one or two years into your career. What matters is a demonstrated pattern of taking on hard problems, doing unusually good work, and earning responsibility quickly.

REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident status, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR compliance required)

- Clear thinking and ability to break down complex problems
- Experience in operations, program management, consulting, engineering, investing, or startup operations (preferred, not required)
- Fluency with AI tools like Claude
