Homebound is transforming residential construction by enabling anyone to build a home using technology. The company has raised $150M from top-tier VCs including Google and Khosla, and is scaling rapidly across Texas, Colorado, and Florida.
As Senior Purchasing Agent, you will lead material sourcing, vendor management, and procurement operations for new and existing home products. You'll manage the complete bid-to-award lifecycle, including bid administration, pricing analysis, contract negotiation, and PO/VPO processing. Your responsibilities include independently managing budget lifecycles with approvals and variance analysis, negotiating optimal cost-quality tradeoffs across materials and trade scopes, and structuring agreements to maximize company value using knowledge of local construction costs and market trends.
You will lead trade partner performance reviews using Blueprint scorecards, recruit and vet new subcontractors to expand the trade base, and build long-term partnerships. You'll attend home and prototype walks to understand field adjustments and trade execution, manage complex blueprint changes, and contribute to cross-functional product development. Additional duties include ensuring timely PO releases aligned with construction schedules, entering budgets into Homebound's platform, owning procurement data integrity and reporting, and developing scopes of work, unit pricing, and supplier/trade contract documentation.
This role requires strong collaboration with Growth, Construction Operations, and Finance teams to solve key business problems and drive efficiency using Homebound's proprietary technology.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Purchasing or related roles within custom or production homebuilding
- Exceptional computer skills with strong proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for data entry and tracking
- Familiarity with MEP systems and their integration into residential projects
- Working knowledge of local building codes and their application
- Estimating experience using tools such as PlanSwift or On Screen Takeoffs
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction documents
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams to solve business problems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Degree in Construction Management, Building Sciences, or related field
