Okta is seeking a Product Manager for Federations to own product strategy and execution for the Federations roadmap. This foundational platform capability enables user, machine, and agentic identities to move inbound and outbound of Okta via industry-standard protocols including OAuth/OIDC, SAML, and API access management.
In this role, you will own roadmap and prioritization for your product area, balancing standards leadership, security, customer requests, and platform strategy. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to define, scope, and ship experiences that meet protocol requirements without compromising security, interoperability, or user experience.
Key responsibilities include working directly with customers, Solutions Engineering, Support, and Standards teams to understand platform needs and translate them into product requirements. You'll use AI tools to accelerate spec writing, competitive analysis, and rapid prototyping to drive roadmap alignment and execution. You'll serve as the subject matter expert for Federations in customer escalations, executive briefings, enterprise prospect evaluations, and partnerships with Marketing and GTM teams.
You'll need 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in identity, security, enterprise-scale, platform, or developer products. Strong technical fluency is essential—you must be able to have in-depth discussions with engineering teams and build working knowledge of federation protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML). You should be able to connect platform-level decisions to Okta's broader business outcomes and market position.
The ideal candidate combines entrepreneurial ownership mindset with collaborative default, empathy for customer problems, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to flex between spec-level detail and executive narrative. Nice-to-have experience includes API access management, non-human identity, agentic identity use cases, or contributions to standards bodies like OpenID Foundation or IETF.
