Ramp is building intelligent financial infrastructure for businesses, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows through 70,000+ companies. As Product Manager for Tax, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ramp's next-generation AI-powered tax products.
You will build solutions to automate tax calculation, validation, and filing across Ramp's suite of products (card, bill pay, banking) for both domestic and international use cases. A key focus is expanding Stack, Ramp's agentic accounting product, into tax automation to automate the work of CPAs—including data collection, workpaper preparation, review, filing, and client follow-up.
You'll partner closely with engineering, design, data, and cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Security, CX, Sales) to build intelligent experiences that help customers save money, reduce risk, and eliminate manual work. This role blends AI-native product development (LLM-powered workflows, evaluation systems, human-in-the-loop design) with deep domain expertise in tax and CPA workflows.
Key responsibilities include: owning the product vision and roadmap from foundational tax infrastructure to customer-facing experiences; building tax automation across existing products for domestic and international customers; developing deep understanding of finance teams, tax leaders, accountants, and CPAs to translate painful manual workflows into product bets; partnering with engineering and data science to ship reliable AI systems with clear evaluation methods and human-in-the-loop controls; designing for trust in a regulated domain through explainability and auditability; translating complex tax rules into scalable product capabilities; leading high-velocity execution with engineers and designers; and driving cross-functional alignment on dependencies and launch readiness.
You should have a BA/BS in a technical or analytical field, minimum 5 years of product management or adjacent product-building experience, and strong domain expertise in tax, accounting, or finance. You need strong product judgment, AI fluency demonstrated through hands-on experience, a track record building trust-critical products, comfort in technical environments, fluency with experimentation and metrics, and proven ability to lead cross-functional teams with urgency and ownership. Nice-to-haves include experience building tax calculation or compliance products, familiarity with specific tax domains (sales/use tax, VAT/GST, 1099 filing), experience building AI-powered products in production, experience with financial products and accounting software, and experience at high-growth startups.
