Anthropic is hiring a Product Manager for its Public Sector team to drive AI adoption across US government agencies and allied governments. The role focuses on embedding Claude into the production workflows of consequential government work—benefits administration, veteran care, financial investigations, unemployment insurance, and policy analysis.
You will lead discovery inside government institutions to identify where Claude belongs in their operational workflows, then shape the product roadmap around those findings. Rather than starting with requirements documents, you'll work alongside government employees to uncover the workflows that matter most. Your scope is large: you'll own a portfolio of government agencies rather than a feature area. Success means agencies delivering services more effectively with Claude integrated into core workflows, and insights from public-sector deployments flowing back into Anthropic's broader enterprise roadmap.
Key responsibilities include: conducting discovery and product shaping within government institutions; owning product decisions for government-specific models and offerings; identifying government needs worth generalizing to the broader product; navigating government compliance regimes (FedRAMP, classified systems, etc.); and partnering with cloud and integration partners.
You'll be among the first product managers on this team, working with dedicated engineering and research teams, plus policy, go-to-market, customer success, and applied AI leads already embedded in agencies. The role requires travel up to 25% of the time and US citizenship due to government agreements.
Ideal candidates have shipped successful products end-to-end with strong product judgment; can point to products that originated from observing user workflows rather than requirements; excel at getting things done through teams that don't report to them; move independently; and build domain intuition quickly in large, dissimilar enterprises. Strong candidates have 7+ years of product-building experience, intuition for how government operates, experience taking public-sector requirements into commercial products, fluency with AI products, and/or experience shipping within compliance boundaries like FedRAMP or classified systems.
