Ramp is building smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows through 70,000+ companies. The company handles payment authorization, risk flagging, spend categorization, and financial close processes.
As Product Manager for Procurement, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ramp's procurement offering. This includes sourcing, requisitions, approval workflows, renewals, purchase orders, receiving, two- and three-way matching, and inventory management. You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, and Data to transform complex purchasing and accounting requirements into intuitive, reliable products.
Key responsibilities:
- Own strategy and roadmap for the Procurement pod, making clear prioritization decisions about which customer problems to solve and what to build next
- Build connected workflows across sourcing, requisitions, approvals, renewals, POs, receiving, invoice matching, and inventory; partner with Bill Pay, Accounting, and platform teams to ensure purchasing records flow through to payment and ERP systems
- Spend time with finance teams, procurement leaders, purchasing operators, and employees to understand friction points and turn them into simpler first-time experiences and powerful workflows for complex organizations
- Build AI-powered experiences that complete useful work (vendor discovery, renewal management, request drafting from contracts, receipt/invoice discrepancy resolution); prototype with customers and decide what should be automated, suggested, or handled through direct controls
- Make automation dependable by partnering with Engineering and Data to define quality measures, test realistic scenarios, learn from corrections, and provide clear explanations, approval boundaries, audit trails, and recovery mechanisms
- Own outcomes beyond launch: define and improve activation, repeat usage, time to complete work, and matching accuracy; use data and research to drive iterations
- Lead execution with engineers and designers, make scope and sequencing tradeoffs, align partner teams on dependencies, and work with Sales, Implementation, and Customer Experience to turn commitments into repeatable capabilities
The role requires in-person presence at the NYC or SF office at least 2 days per week.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of product management or equivalent product-building experience, with evidence of owning a product area from customer discovery through launch and measurable adoption
- Strong product judgment and systems thinking; ability to simplify complex workflows while preserving necessary controls and flexibility
- Hands-on AI fluency demonstrated through products, prototypes, or meaningful projects; ability to reason about model quality, latency, cost, and user control
- Technical and analytical fluency developed through a technical/analytical degree or equivalent practical experience; ability to work with engineers on data models and integrations, use data to investigate problems, and build prototypes
- Deep customer curiosity and strong design judgment; ability to learn unfamiliar purchasing and finance workflows and distinguish recurring needs from one-off requests
- Track record of leading cross-functional teams, setting priorities, making difficult tradeoffs, and delivering outcomes through others
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining product direction, complex workflows, and decision reasoning to technical and non-technical audiences
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with procurement, purchasing, inventory management, accounts payable, or accounting software (POs, receiving, matching, exception handling)
- Experience shipping AI-powered products in production (document understanding, agent workflows, evaluation systems)
- Experience with ERP integrations, multi-entity businesses, or enterprise approval/permission models
- Experience building products where accuracy and trust are critical, with meaningful auditability, user controls, and recovery paths
- Experience at high-growth startups taking products from concept to sustained use or scaling existing products
