PayJoy is a mission-driven credit provider serving underserved customers in emerging markets. The company has built a proprietary security technology (PayJoy Lock) that runs across the world's largest emerging market device fleet, serving over 18 million customers while maintaining profitability.
As Senior Product Manager for Lock Platform, you will own the strategic and operational programs that maintain and expand PayJoy's core security moat. This is a key individual contributor role reporting to the Lock Platform Lead, working alongside a team of engineers to strengthen lock security, expand device compatibility, and reduce fraud across multiple emerging markets.
Key responsibilities include:
• End-to-end ownership of lock platform initiatives from problem definition through launch, iteration, and ongoing operations
• Driving lock security programs including OTA enforcement, device vulnerability reduction, and real-time platform health visibility systems
• Leading the lock reliability program to prevent accidental locking incidents and ensure policy compliance across new features
• Managing device compatibility programs—identifying gaps, launching new locking technology, and ensuring all financed devices meet security standards
• Supporting new market and country launches by owning lock readiness checklists and ensuring compliance before go-live
• Cross-functional leadership with engineering, GTM, legal, OEM partners, and field teams with proactive communication and clear ownership
• Synthesizing competitive intelligence and field research to inform roadmap decisions
• Communicating progress, risks, and decisions proactively to leadership
Required qualifications:
• 8+ years as a Product Manager with a proven track record of owning technically complex programs end-to-end without hand-holding
• Technical fluency on Android or mobile platforms with ability to engage directly with engineers on implementation details
• Strong problem-framing skills, ability to propose solutions with explicit tradeoffs, and proactive risk surfacing
• Experience in mobile security, device management, OEM ecosystems, or adjacent technically complex domains
• Strong analytical ability including independent data querying and metrics framework building
Preferred qualifications include Android lock mechanisms or Knox experience, OTA update and OEM certification familiarity, emerging market product launch experience (LATAM, SEA, Africa), hybrid PM/engineer background with code reading ability, SQL fluency, and Spanish or Portuguese language skills.
