Bankjoy, a Y Combinator and Bessemer Venture Partner-backed fintech startup, is seeking a Product Manager III to lead the development of a new kids and family financial empowerment product. This is a 0-to-1 product role where you will own the complete roadmap from early-stage concept through launch and growth, collaborating closely with engineering, design, and credit union partners. You will conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends and user needs in the kids fintech and financial education space. You'll develop detailed user stories, personas, and journey maps for both children and parents, ensuring products are engaging, safe, and age-appropriate. Working with engineering and design teams, you'll define product requirements and ensure technical solutions align with business goals. Key responsibilities include leading feature ideation and launch for financial engagement, savings behavior, goal-setting, and literacy initiatives. You'll act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable plans. You'll prioritize the product backlog, coordinate with engineering leadership, and define metrics to track product performance and user engagement. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring all product initiatives adhere to regulatory compliance requirements specific to financial products for minors, including COPPA and CFPB guidelines. You'll work closely with credit union partners to understand member needs and ensure the product creates genuine value for both financial institutions and families. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of product management experience in fintech, digital banking, financial wellness, or financial education. You bring demonstrated passion for financial empowerment and ideally have direct experience building products for younger audiences, families, or underserved communities. You have a proven track record managing products through full lifecycle from 0-to-1 launch through growth, strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, and excellent market research skills. Experience with financial institutions, credit unions, or community banks is a strong plus.
