Bankjoy is a Y Combinator and Bessemer Venture Partner-backed fintech startup transforming how community banks and credit unions operate. The company provides modern digital banking products including mobile banking, online banking, account opening, loan origination, and conversational AI. You will lead the 0-to-1 development of Bankjoy's kids and family financial empowerment product, owning the complete roadmap from early-stage concept through launch and growth. This role sits at the intersection of fintech product development, financial education, and regulatory compliance—working closely with engineering, design, and credit union partners to build engaging, trust-driven experiences for families and younger audiences. Key responsibilities include: conducting comprehensive market research in the kids fintech and financial education space; developing detailed user stories, personas, and journey maps for both children and parents; collaborating with engineering and design to translate user needs into product requirements; working with credit union partners to ensure genuine member value; leading feature ideation and launch for financial engagement, savings behavior, and financial literacy; serving as liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders; prioritizing the product backlog and coordinating execution; defining and analyzing product performance metrics; and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements specific to financial products for minors (COPPA, CFPB guidelines). You bring a minimum of 7 years of product management experience in fintech, digital banking, financial wellness, or financial education. You have demonstrated passion for financial empowerment and ideally direct experience building products for younger audiences, families, or underserved communities. You've managed products through full lifecycle from 0-to-1 launch through growth, understand compliance and regulatory requirements for financial products serving minors, and excel at market research and user story development. Experience with financial institutions, credit unions, or community banks is a strong plus. You communicate exceptionally well, motivate cross-functional teams, and ideally have Agile/Scrum experience.
