Datadog is hiring a Product Manager II to lead Model Lab, a 0→1 experiment tracking platform for teams training and fine-tuning foundational models. This role sits at the intersection of observability and AI infrastructure, building a new product category that will be deeply integrated into Datadog's core platform. You will own the full product lifecycle: defining vision and strategy for experiment tracking and model training observability, conducting 0→1 discovery with AI research teams and ML platform engineers, and designing a unified system that centralizes training metrics, hyperparameters, artifacts, dataset lineage, and model evaluation. You'll identify competitive differentiation opportunities, partner closely with engineering and design to ship foundational capabilities (experiment lineage, artifact versioning, distributed training visibility, reproducibility workflows), and collaborate with go-to-market teams on packaging and positioning. Key responsibilities include driving early customer adoption through design partnerships and private beta programs, translating research-oriented workflows into clear product primitives and APIs, establishing success metrics, and iterating rapidly based on user feedback. You'll work in a cross-functional environment aligning engineering, design, and GTM around a clear strategy. You bring 4+ years of product management experience with at least one 0→1 product or major feature launch. You're entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity, and have hands-on experience with developer tools, ML infrastructure, data platforms, or AI/LLM systems. You understand modern ML training workflows (distributed training, experiment tracking, hyperparameter tuning, artifact storage, evaluation pipelines) and have familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX. You're opinionated about product quality and developer experience, can translate technical concepts into compelling narratives, and thrive in fast-paced, competitive markets. Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace and values diverse perspectives.
