Salary: USD 177,000 - 203,000 / annual
Muon Space, a LEO satellite constellation provider founded in 2021, is seeking a Product Manager II to own the product roadmap and strategy for key spacecraft platform subsystems including power, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), and propulsion. Reporting to the Director of Product Management - Spacecraft, you will drive end-to-end capabilities that enable the spacecraft platform to meet customer mission needs.
Key responsibilities include owning the product roadmap for power, propulsion, and GNC subsystems; defining and prioritizing features that improve product quality, schedule adherence, and customer value; authoring clear Product Requirements Documents and driving cross-functional alignment; conducting customer interviews to gather feedback on product-market fit; and translating insights into roadmap decisions. You will partner closely with engineering teams across hardware, mission systems, and mission architecture to define features and roadmap. You will also coordinate with production teams including Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) and supply chain to understand vendors, lead times, and optimization opportunities. Additionally, you will work with the Director of PM - Federal on defense-aligned product needs and collaborate with the VP of Product and broader PM team on strategic roadmap decisions and prioritization trade-offs.
Required qualifications include 3–5 years of Product Management experience with demonstrated success owning hardware products in technically complex environments. You should have experience in solar power systems, spacecraft propulsion, industrial robotics, or adjacent deep-tech hardware domains, plus a proven track record delivering major features or programs spanning multiple months of effort. Strong independent execution across concurrent workstreams, fluency working with engineering peers and leadership, and the ability to influence cross-organizational technical investment without direct authority are essential. You must be able to translate customer mission needs into detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria across hardware subsystems. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with solar power systems or Hall-effect thrusters, guidance/navigation/control algorithms and simulations, experience building or operating hardware for the space environment, and prior experience in startup or high-growth technology environments.
The role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence in the San Jose, CA office three days per week.
