Perplexity is hiring a Product Manager for Growth to own the expansion and monetization of its AI answer engine and agentic AI product (Computer). This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, experimentation, and analytics, focusing on driving user adoption, retention, and paid conversion. Key responsibilities include: owning the upsell roadmap and iterating on conversion levers; running onboarding experiments to accelerate time-to-first-success; building personalized recommendation systems (connectors, follow-ups, segment-aware surfaces); designing and optimizing upgrade flows for free-to-paid, plan upgrades, and credit purchases; driving adoption of new Computer features through targeted rollouts and measuring impact on retention and revenue; orchestrating cross-device conversion (web to mobile/desktop); analyzing funnels and cohorts to identify high-leverage opportunities; maintaining guardrails on retention, support volume, and margin; and coordinating execution across engineering, design, data, and marketing through clear specs and experiment briefs. The ideal candidate brings 2–4 years of total experience, including ~2 years in investment banking, strategy consulting, or similar analytical roles, followed by operating experience in growth or product at a startup (or founding experience). You are extremely analytical—fluent in SQL, comfortable with experiment design and statistical analysis. You think in user journeys, personas, and behavioral triggers, recognizing that aggregate metrics can hide segment-level losses. You have strong product taste, distinguishing between helpful upsells and annoying ones, and you care about second-order effects. You move with high velocity, owning multiple parallel experiments while shifting between analysis, spec-writing, and shipping in the same week. You thrive in ambiguity, bias toward action, low ego, and high ownership. Nice-to-have skills include direct experience with A/B testing platforms (Eppo, Statsig, Optimizely), subscription/usage-based billing and paywall experimentation, and shipping across web and native mobile.
