QuantumDiamonds, founded in 2022 as a spin-off of TU Munich, is seeking a Product Manager to own the product strategy and requirements for its quantum sensing measurement systems (QDm product line). The company leverages quantum sensors to capture three-dimensional current maps within multi-layer chips, serving foundries, IDMs, OSATs, and failure analysis labs for chip debugging and yield analysis acceleration.
In this role, you will:
- Own product requirements by gathering needs from customers, field teams, market research, and internal stakeholders (serviceability, modularity, manufacturability, cost targets), translating them into clear, prioritized, solution-neutral requirements.
- Establish requirements engineering tooling and workflow: select and implement systems (e.g., Jama, Polarion, CodeBeamer) to capture, trace, and maintain requirements from customer need through specification to verification, including change control across releases.
- Own and maintain the QDm.1 roadmap: propose what gets built and in what order, make trade-offs explicit, and align decisions with the management team.
- Collaborate with the applications team on customer interactions and evaluations with major semiconductor manufacturers, translating learnings into product requirements.
- Define acceptance criteria from the customer's perspective for each requirement, ensuring clarity and testability, and link them to customer evaluation and qualification plans.
- Align with the Product Development department on scope and timing, handing solution-neutral requirements to engineering while leaving implementation details to the technical disciplines.
- Support go-to-market activities: provide input on positioning, pricing, launch readiness, and documentation scope alongside applications, operations, and product development teams.
The company operates an international team of over 70 (physicists, engineers, data scientists) backed by top-tier deep tech investors and semiconductor experts. You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge quantum physics and real-world semiconductor manufacturing challenges.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Several years of product management experience for complex hardware or capital equipment, ideally in semiconductor, metrology, or comparable deep-tech environments.
- Demonstrated track record of writing clear product requirements that engineering teams can build from.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and engineers, translating between technical and business perspectives.
- Sufficient technical depth to hold credible conversations with designers across mechanics, optics, electronics/RF, and software disciplines.
- Structured prioritization skills: ability to make trade-offs explicit and back them with reasoning.
- Technical or scientific background preferred; working language is English.
VALUED ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Semiconductor industry knowledge (fabs, IDMs, OSATs, inspection, metrology, failure analysis).
- Familiarity with SEMI standards and fab tool integration (S2/S8, E10, SECS/GEM).
- Experience selecting or implementing requirements management tools.
- Working understanding of quantum sensing, optics, or precision instrumentation.
