This Product Manager role owns the Merchant Dashboard—the central hub where restaurant operators manage their entire business within SpotOn's software suite. The Dashboard serves as the primary entry point into the ecosystem, surfacing settings, reports, alerts, insights, and growth opportunities. The PM will define how merchants navigate, configure, monitor, and grow their business, shaping information architecture, interaction patterns, personalization, and monetization surfaces that power daily operator workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining product strategy for SpotOn's restaurant software suite alongside leadership
- Owning and managing the product roadmap with data-informed trade-offs based on customer needs, market dynamics, and business priorities
- Bringing innovative thinking to product design and vision, challenging assumptions to solve customer problems boldly
- Partnering closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Data Science, Operations, and GTM teams to align priorities and deliver impactful solutions
- Analyzing market trends, customer feedback, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to identify differentiation opportunities
- Leading continuous experimentation, learning, and iteration cycles using data to guide decisions
- Cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners as the product's advocate
- Collaborating on product positioning and go-to-market strategy
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of product management experience, preferably in restaurant or hospitality software
- Deep understanding of product development lifecycle with proven ability to deliver intuitive, scalable products across multiple platforms
- Technical fluency: ability to engage with engineers, understand APIs and systems architecture, and discuss implementation trade-offs
- Metrics-driven work style leveraging data for informed decisions
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate product vision, rationale, and trade-offs to cross-functional teams
- Customer empathy and ability to understand merchant needs and product interactions
- Comfort making decisions with imperfect information, leading without authority, and managing ambiguity and complexity
- Hands-on restaurant or hospitality experience (working in a restaurant, bar, or cafe) is a significant plus
The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the Austin office. Compensation includes a base salary of $175,000–$195,000 plus company stock plan, with offers reflective of candidate location and experience.
