You will own PermitFlow's core AI infrastructure and workflow agents, responsible for delivering reliable, production-grade agentic systems in a complex domain where accuracy directly impacts customer outcomes. The role spans agent design, evaluation, and operational execution.
Key responsibilities include: designing and shipping core workflow agents for permitting that enable rapid project comprehension and accurate compliance submissions; defining and owning the quality bar for agent reliability ("reliable enough to submit") at field and submission levels; charting the path to full automation by segmenting use cases and driving toward single-shot submissions where accuracy permits; architecting assistive use cases with human-in-the-loop patterns for scenarios requiring human judgment; partnering with operations to build evaluation and data flywheels through testing, golden data generation, and structured error analysis; designing a durable feedback system enabling users to improve agents and AI products; building internal tooling for testing, error analysis, and iterative improvement; and serving as the applied AI expert for teams transitioning from traditional software backgrounds.
You'll report directly to the Head of Product. This is a high-impact role where product decisions directly influence how the physical world gets built across housing, clean energy, and infrastructure development.
The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of product management experience (or equivalent in forward-deployed engineering, applied research, or operations leadership), direct ownership of shipped AI/agentic systems in high-stakes domains, hands-on expertise building evaluations (golden datasets, LLM-as-judge, human annotation, online monitoring), strong technical fluency, and a track record of partnering closely with operations teams. You ship quickly, instrument everything, maintain high quality standards, and stay deeply connected to user needs.
