Airwallex is a unified payments and financial platform serving over 250,000 global businesses including Brex, Rippling, Navan, and Qantas. Valued at $11B and backed by top-tier investors (Sequoia, Visa, Mastercard, T. Rowe Price), the company operates across 27 offices with 2,300+ employees. As Product Lead for Payment Infrastructure, you will direct the Payments Product team and own the core engines powering money movement across the Airwallex ecosystem. This is a defining leadership role shaping clearing and settlement platforms, ledgers, banking integrations, and interfaces with card networks and local payment rails (ACH, SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT). Key responsibilities include: • Building & Scaling Core Payment Rails: Expand global footprint by integrating with new payment schemes, banking partners, and clearing systems to enable instant, low-cost money movement. • Optimizing Global Payment Flows: Enhance platform capabilities—intelligent dynamic routing, automated failovers, fee netting, smart batching—to maximize authorization rates, improve settlement speed, and reduce cost per transaction. • Strengthening Foundational Infrastructure: Drive evolution of ledger and reconciliation systems ensuring high availability, liquidity management, and precision for financial reporting and regulatory compliance. • Designing Scalable Developer Experiences: Craft reliable, elegant internal and external APIs that abstract global banking complexity, enabling other product teams to build seamlessly on your infrastructure. You will partner closely with engineering, compliance, finance, operations, and commercial teams to deliver critical capabilities at massive scale. Required: 10+ years product management in high-growth environments with significant fintech/payment platform/core infrastructure experience. Deep domain expertise in global payment systems, card networks, clearing/settlement, and ledger architecture. Technical fluency to engage in complex architectural discussions around high-scale, mission-critical systems. Exceptional communication translating technical strategy into business value. Analytical rigor and data-driven mindset. Bachelor's degree or higher with strong academics; technical/engineering coursework a plus. Preferred: Experience building/scaling external-facing API products. Direct experience managing banking/payment network partnerships or navigating global regulatory compliance.
