Salary: USD 180,000 - 220,000 / annual
Photon is building infrastructure that connects prescription writing to fulfillment, giving patients transparency and choice in how they obtain medications. The company aims to make prescriptions more transparent, accessible, and consumer-driven by simplifying the entire workflow from clinician to patient.
As Product Lead, Clinical, you will own the end-to-end clinician experience and prescription intake workflows at Photon. Your scope includes embedded prescribing workflows, clinician portals, APIs, EMR integrations, and underlying systems that power prescribing—including drug data, benefits verification, eligibility checks, and clinical infrastructure integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the clinician experience and Rx intake from prescribing through handoff into the Photon network
- Setting product strategy and roadmap for the clinical experience, balancing clinician needs, partner requirements, and long-term network direction
- Defining and evolving prescriber-facing products and clinical API surfaces (embedded components, portals, APIs, SDKs, integration tooling)
- Driving EMR and clinical system integrations to enable adoption across diverse clinical environments
- Owning product integrations for drug data, benefits, eligibility, and third-party clinical infrastructure
- Establishing best practices for integration patterns, versioning, documentation, observability, and reliability
- Developing deep understanding of clinician workflows to identify friction and improve the prescribing experience
- Collaborating closely with technology, commercial, customer, and operations teams to translate needs into product priorities
You'll need 5+ years building and owning complex technical products with significant product experience. Strong technical fluency is essential—you should be comfortable reasoning about APIs, data models, system design, and architectural tradeoffs. You have a track record of turning complex workflows into intuitive products and can navigate ambiguity to create structure in complex systems.
Healthcare experience is strongly preferred, particularly with EMR integrations, e-prescribing, clinical workflows, or healthcare interoperability. You should be comfortable working directly with data and technical tooling, including querying systems. Experience using AI tools to accelerate product work is valued.
Photon is an early-stage company where you'll have meaningful ownership and shape how the company supports and learns from customers. The role is based in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn office with a minimum of three days per week on-site.
