RevenueCat is the default monetization platform for mobile apps, processing $16B+ in annual purchase volume and embedded in 50%+ of newly shipped subscription apps. The company is a remote-first team of 150+ people across 25+ countries, backed by Y Combinator (S18 batch) and top-tier investors.
As a Product Expert, you'll be the first point of contact for inbound developer interest—handling discovery conversations, product demos, and guidance for app builders, growth teams, and founders exploring RevenueCat's capabilities. This is a new role at the intersection of inbound sales, product education, and developer onboarding.
Key responsibilities:
- Respond to inbound interest and run discovery conversations to understand developers' apps, goals, and needs.
- Deliver clear product demos and practical guidance, explaining RevenueCat's features, limitations, and implementation steps.
- Help straightforward adoption move forward by guiding self-serve customers through next steps and sharing resources.
- Recognize when to escalate: bring qualified commercial opportunities to Account Executives, involve Sales Engineers for technical complexity, route support questions appropriately, and honestly communicate when RevenueCat isn't the right fit.
- Maintain clear notes on goals, requirements, and next steps; own follow-through until handoff is complete so customers don't restart conversations.
- Contribute feedback on recurring questions and gaps; help build better demos, resources, and playbooks based on what you learn.
You'll initially report to the Sales Engineering lead, shadow experienced teammates, and help shape how the Product Expert team operates as it scales. The role covers the Americas region; a parallel hire will cover EMEA.
First-month milestones: deepen RevenueCat knowledge through shadowing, start handling conversations with team support, host a bi-weekly demo stream. By three months: independently run discovery and demos, make well-qualified handoffs, establish follow-up rhythm. By six months: be a trusted product advisor, demonstrate impact on prospect progression, contribute reusable guidance. By twelve months: help establish team processes, mentor new hires, and potentially transition toward Sales Engineering, Account Executive, or Customer Success roles.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of RevenueCat: you can demonstrate how you've used the product and explain it in your own words (learned at work or through personal projects).
- Curiosity about app business models: understand how developers build, monetize, and grow products.
- Clear, friendly communication: listen carefully, ask useful questions, write concise follow-ups, adapt explanations for different audiences (developers, founders, growth leads).
- Technical common sense: comfortable discussing SDKs, APIs, subscriptions, and paywalls at a practical level; know when to involve an engineer.
- Commercial common sense: spot promising opportunities, understand fit and timing, recommend useful next steps without over-pitching.
- Ownership and follow-through: manage multiple conversations, keep notes organized, ensure reliable follow-up.
- Remote work capability: communicate proactively, ask for help when needed, work hours that overlap meaningfully with your region's customers and teammates.
IDEAL BACKGROUND (not required):
- Have built or shipped an app using RevenueCat (including side projects or hackathons).
- Experience in customer-facing roles: support, community, teaching, or demos.
- Familiarity with developer tools, subscriptions, or products with both self-serve and sales-assisted models.
- Track record of improving processes or creating resources that help others.
