As a Product Design Mechanical Engineer in the Taipei office, you will own the mechanical design and development of enterprise IoT hardware products from proof-of-concept through mass production. This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and vendor collaboration.
Key responsibilities include: driving new products from concept to production; generating mechanical solutions for enterprise hardware (mounting, sealing, environmental resistance, thermals, tamper resistance, audio); collaborating with electrical engineering and industrial design teams to integrate components and finalize form/CMF; working with vendors on DFM/DFA, quoting, and tooling; owning tooling release and validation; developing and executing mechanical reliability test plans and design-of-experiments; conducting failure and root-cause analysis; steering products through validation builds (EVT, DVT, PVT) with JDM and contract manufacturers; and driving on-site factory troubleshooting and assembly line bring-up.
You will need 8+ years of experience designing and manufacturing enterprise or consumer electronic products, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field, mastery of 3D CAD, hands-on hardware building and testing experience, and fluency in English and Mandarin. Experience with outdoor product design (IP66/67, IK08/10), vendor collaboration on DFM and tooling, and frequent travel throughout Taiwan and Southeast Asia are essential. You must be independently authorized to work in Taiwan; visa sponsorship is not available.
